Animal Cruelty in Raha: PETA India Registers FIR
Raha, November 20: In a recent and deeply disturbing incident of animal cruelty that has shocked the nation, Assam Police have taken prompt action against four people involved in a heinous act against a hen.
The incident, which was captured on video and went viral on social media, shows the boys inserting a firecracker into the private part of a hen and igniting it, leading to the bird’s painful and untimely death.

The video, which surfaced on various social media platforms, depicts a clear and cruel act of animal abuse. In the footage, two of the boys can be seen carrying out the act, while others are present and participating in the mockery of the dying bird.
The hen, subjected to unimaginable pain, succumbed to its injuries, sparking a wave of outrage among netizens and animal rights activists.

Upon the video gaining attention, Assam Police acted swiftly. A case was registered by the Nagaon Police at Raha Police Station under case number 216/23, invoking sections 429/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 11(1) of the Cruelty to Animals Act.

The Assam Police, in their official statement, confirmed the arrest of the accused individuals. The legal proceedings have been initiated, and the accused are currently under custody.
The police have not disclosed the identities of the accused, considering their young age, but have assured that appropriate legal action is being taken.
