Vikram Singh takes charge as director of NSCBI Airport, Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 1 : The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has appointed Vikram Singh as the new director of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, following the retirement of P. R. Beuria.

Singh brings three decades of experience in airport operations and management. He joined AAI as a management trainee in 1995 and has served in key operational and administrative roles at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai; Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi; NSCBI Airport, Kolkata; the Indian Aviation Academy, New Delhi; and AAI’s corporate headquarters.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Delhi University and an MBA from BIT Mesra, Ranchi. According to AAI, his work has spanned airport operations, airside management, slot allocation, training and change management. He has developed training modules and e-learning courses for airport professionals and is an ICAO-qualified course developer.

His past assignments include handling high flight volumes during special events; contributing to policies on aircraft parking and slot allocation; supporting operationalisation of new infrastructure at Kolkata, Patna and Kushinagar airports; and designing training programmes for airport executives.

As airport director, Singh plans to focus on passenger facilitation, safety standards and operational efficiency, with an emphasis on innovation, sustainability and stakeholder engagement aligned with AAI’s objectives.
