RBI Receives Threatening Call from 'CEO of Lashkar' 2

On Saturday morning, November 16, 2024, the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) customer care line received a threatening call from an individual claiming to be the “CEO of Lashkar.” The caller issued unspecified threats, prompting immediate action from the authorities.

Mumbai Police have registered a complaint and treated the incident as a hoax call. Investigations are underway to identify the caller and assess any potential security implications.

This incident follows a similar event in December 2023, when the RBI and other banks received bomb threat emails demanding the resignation of key financial officials.

It is worth mentioning that in recent times, many airlines operating from India have also received similar threats from miscreants that proved to be hoaxes.
