A love-lorn youth on Wednesday killed a girl for rejecting his proposal of love.
The youth had been insisting the girl accept his proposal for a long time but she continued to refuse his proposal.
The killer has been identified as Sanjay Lalung, a resident of Shanti Basti in Amsing Jorabat in Guwahati.
The victim has been identified as Marami Tanti.
Sources said she was killed by the youth with a dao in front of her mother after dragging her out of a vehicle.
After killing the girl, the criminal fled from the spot but he was arrested in the wee-hours of Wednesday from Amsing Tea Garden area.by Sathgaon Police.
It may be noted that in a similar case, a woman was attacked and severely injured when a youth enraged at the rejection of his proposal stabbed the woman in Changsari area of Kamrup district.
