Mizoram : Pu C. Lalremsiama was Jt. Director in the Horticulture Dept.
A senior official of the Horticulture Department of Mizoram, Pu C. Lalremsiama, lost his life on Saturday afternoon in a devastating car accident in Sairang.
The accident occurred when Lalremsiama was driving a Bolero car, which fell into the Tlawng River near Buichali bridge. He was en route to Kolasib to play badminton with friends.
Sadly, the car submerged into the river, which was murky and inundated due to recent rains. Despite the efforts of locals who rushed to the scene to rescue any survivors and retrieve the car, no one was found inside.
After an extensive search, Pu C. Lalremsiama’s body was discovered downstream, not far from the accident site.
Pu C. Lalremsiama, who was the joint director of the Horticulture Department and a resident of Aizawl, is survived by his wife Pi Laldingliani and their four children. He previously served as the district horticulture officer of Kolasib and had a wide circle of friends there.
The police have yet to determine the cause of the accident and have registered a case for further investigation. This unfortunate incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a respected and accomplished individual.
