Young Mizoram Boxer Lalruatdika Dies After Injury During Bout in Aizawl

Twenty-year-old collapsed following head impact at MBA Professional Boxing event; passed away at hospital without regaining consciousness

Aizawl, Nov 17: Young Mizoram boxer Lalruatdika died on Sunday evening after suffering a severe head injury during the MBA Professional Boxing event held at the LPS Arena on November 14.

The 20-year-old collapsed inside the ring after a clash with his opponent caused his head to hit the floor.

According to organisers, Lalruatdika lost consciousness immediately and was rushed to Greenwood Hospital for emergency treatment.

Despite efforts by doctors, he did not regain consciousness and was declared dead around 9:20 pm.

The unexpected loss of the promising young athlete, known among peers for his cheerful and friendly nature, has left the sporting community and residents deeply shocked.

Messages of grief have poured in from friends, fellow boxers and sports enthusiasts across Mizoram, mourning the death of the budding boxer whose career had only just begun.
