MBOSE SSLC results out; 86.84% students clear exam, Wangaal Lama tops

Shillong, April 7: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Tuesday declared the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 86.84.

Out of 48,623 candidates who appeared for the examination, as many as 42,228 successfully cleared it.

Wangaal Lama of Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School in Shillong secured the top position in the state by scoring 585 marks.

Congratulating the successful candidates, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma extended his wishes through a post on microblogging site X, praising the efforts of students and acknowledging the role of parents, teachers and schools in their achievements.

He wrote, “Congratulations to our dear students who passed their #SSLC examinations. Kudos to the toppers who have done their parents, teachers and schools proud! Wishing each of you a successful future. May you always shine!”

The board’s data showed that Regular-1 candidates performed strongly with a pass percentage of 93.30, while Regular-2 candidates recorded 80.72.

Among districts, East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and South West Khasi Hills emerged as the top performers.

The SSLC examinations were conducted between January 30 and February 11, and the board has released detailed performance statistics, including category-wise, gender-wise, district-wise and institution-wise results, along with the merit list and subject toppers.
