Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Monday announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to the state police personnel involved in the operation that led to the recovery of a huge cache of arms suspected to be belonging to a rebel group the previous day.
In the operation by a team of Thoubal police commandos, three individuals who were allegedly behind the hiding of the arms and ammunition were also arrested. “Recommendation certificates and medals will also be awarded to the police personnel involved in the operation”, Singh said.

He termed the recovery as a huge achievement of the state police in the counter insurgency operation.
“It is a huge achievement, I appreciate them,” the chief minister said.
Talking to reporters after releasing a report card of the achievement of the BJP-led government in the four years and eight months, the chief minister claimed that there was a marked improvement in the law and order situation in the state since in the last four years and eight months.

He informed that the recent deadly ambush that killed a CO of Assam Rifles, his wife and son along with other soldiers will be investigated by the NIA. The agency has taken over the case, he said.
Earlier, the chief minister released a publication titled, “Transforming Manipur, Inclusive Development Under BJP-led Government” in a simple function held at chief minister’s secretariat.
It contained a brief account of the various works and initiatives taken up by the government from March 15, 2017 to November 15, 2021. Singh said that the state government was successful in bringing all-round development during the last four years and eight months.
