Indian Army Rescues Snakebite Victim in Imphal East

Imphal, March 26: A seven-year-old child who suffered a snakebite was provided timely medical assistance by troops of the Indian Army in Manipur’s Imphal East district, a press release said on Thursday.

According to the release, the incident took place around 5 PM when the child’s family approached the Company Operating Base at Hanuman Top seeking urgent help.

Acting swiftly, Army personnel administered first aid under the supervision of the Regimental Medical Officer.

Meanwhile, the wound was treated and the affected limb was immobilised to prevent the spread of venom.

Following initial stabilisation, the child was evacuated to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for further treatment.
