Meghalaya district names with headquarters
Meghalaya, a picturesque state in northeastern India, is divided into 12 districts, each with its own administrative headquarters:
- East Khasi Hills – Shillong
- West Khasi Hills – Nongstoin
- South West Khasi Hills – Mawkyrwat
- Eastern West Khasi Hills – Mairang
- Ri-Bhoi – Nongpoh
- West Jaintia Hills – Jowai
- East Jaintia Hills – Khliehriat
- North Garo Hills – Resubelpara
- East Garo Hills – Williamnagar
- South Garo Hills – Baghmara
- West Garo Hills – Tura
- South West Garo Hills – Ampati
The most recent addition is the Eastern West Khasi Hills district, established in 2021 with Mairang as its headquarters.
