In a dazzling event at the De’ Oriental Hotel, Kohima, Keziah Mero, an 18-year-old student from Pfutseromi Village in the Phek district, was crowned Miss Kohima 2023. The prestigious title is a significant achievement for Mero, who is pursuing her 12th standard at G Rio School, Kohima.

The ceremony, which saw a blend of glamour, talent, and intelligence, also witnessed Tolika K Kishepu, 19, and Katienla Longchar, 20, clinch the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. In addition to her title, Mero was honoured with the Miss Talent subtitle, showcasing her multifaceted abilities.

Organized by 4front Management, a non-profit organization working under the Aegis of Agathos Society, the event was more than just a beauty pageant. It was a platform to celebrate and promote diverse aspects such as intelligence, purpose, grace, integrity, and values, as emphasized by Theja Sekhose, co-founder of 4front Management.

The winners were awarded handsomely, with Mero receiving gift hampers worth Rs 50,000 and a Rs 20,000 makeover voucher. The first and second runners-up were not far behind, receiving gift hampers worth Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 and makeover vouchers of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.

In other categories, Kevilenuo Semou was named Miss Photogenic, and Tolika K Kishepu won the Best Ramp Walk subtitle, each receiving gift hampers worth Rs 5,000.

The event saw auditions conducted in various colleges, including an open audition in Kohima, ensuring a diverse and talented pool of contestants. The esteemed panel of judges comprised Dr. Amos Sekhose from Agathos Society, Pelevinuo Rüpreo, former Miss Kohima 2017, and Lipokzulu, General Secretary of Miss Nagaland, BASN.

The crowning of Keziah Mero as Miss Kohima 2023 marks a significant milestone in her journey and the pageant’s history, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry and the evolving face of beauty in Nagaland.
