Guwahati Gears Up for an Electric Makeover with Tata Power’s Charging Stations
Guwahati, 14th October 2023: In a significant move to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Assam, Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of the Tata Power Group, announced a strategic collaboration with the Assam Government. This partnership cemented through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is set to revolutionize the EV charging infrastructure in the bustling city of Guwahati.
As part of this groundbreaking initiative, Tata Power has ambitious plans to roll out a network of 10 state-of-the-art EV chargers. These chargers will be strategically positioned across 10 crucial locations within the city, with a special focus on high-traffic zones, including the administrative hub of Dispur.
The MoU was signed in a grand ceremony graced by Assam’s Hon’ble Transport Minister, Excise & Fisheries, Shri. Parimal Suklabaidya. The event also saw the presence of other distinguished officials such as the Secretary Transport to the Govt. of Assam, Mr Adil Khan (IAS), Dr Rabin Kumar (IPS) – Commissioner of Transport-Assam, and Mr Virendra Goyal, Head- Business Development (EV Charging), Tata Power.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Echoing the sentiment, Mr Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging) at Tata Power, shed light on the company’s strategic vision. He stated, “In our steadfast pursuit of network expansion, we are meticulously exploring distinctive locations for charger deployment. Tata Power, through its expansive network, is driving adoption and mitigating range anxiety while promoting EV adoption in Assam.
