Itanagar, Nov 8 : Troops of the Indian Army deployed in the remote and strategically vital Siang, Siyom and Subansiri valleys of Arunachal Pradesh commemorated 150 years of India’s national song, ‘Vande Mataram’, with patriotic zeal at forward locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

At dawn, soldiers assembled at their posts overlooking the LAC to join the nation in the collective singing of the song. Against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains and gushing rivers, their voices resonated through the valleys—symbolising unity, strength and national pride.
The event was held in line with directives issued by the Army’s higher command to mark the historic milestone. Despite harsh weather and isolation, troops at all forward posts displayed enthusiasm in paying tribute to the motherland. Their participation reflected the Army’s core values of sacrifice, discipline and service.
The Siang, Siyom and Subansiri valleys, among the most challenging operational sectors in the country, underline India’s determination to safeguard its borders. Soldiers stationed in these areas operate in extreme terrain and weather but remain steadfast in their duty and deeply connected to the nation’s spirit.
Officers and men observed that the song’s timeless words continue to inspire every soldier standing guard on the nation’s frontier. After the singing, interactive sessions were held on the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ and its enduring relevance as a symbol of unity and courage.
The ceremony concluded with the hoisting of the tricolour and reaffirmation of the pledge to uphold the sovereignty and honour of the nation under all circumstances.
As the echoes of ‘Vande Mataram’ faded into the hills, the frontier valleys stood as a living symbol of India’s indomitable spirit—where every soldier’s heartbeat reverberates with the call of the motherland.
