Dental outreach brings relief to troops and locals in Arunachal’s Tuting
Tuting (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 12 : In a humanitarian outreach under Project Brahmank, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) conducted a seven-day dental camp across remote areas of Upper Siang district, bringing vital oral healthcare to defence personnel and civilians in Tuting, Kapou, Nigging, Moying, and Yingkiong.

Located in one of the most inaccessible border regions of Arunachal Pradesh, Tuting and nearby villages lack regular access to dental facilities. The initiative provided both preventive and curative care, including check-ups, fillings, extractions, and scaling, benefitting 96 personnel and residents. For many, this marked their first-ever dental consultation.
An awareness session on “Prevention of Oral Cancer” was also organised to educate participants about the dangers of tobacco use and the importance of early medical consultation for any suspicious oral symptoms.

The camp was supervised by Capt Mohish M S and his team from the Dental Unit of Project Brahmank, whose dedicated efforts ensured smooth operations across multiple remote locations.
“This initiative reflects the spirit of Project Brahmank—service, dedication, and development in India’s frontier regions,” said a statement issued by the Defence PRO.
The outreach programme was held under the guidance of Chief Engineer S.C. Looniya, and was widely appreciated by locals and troops alike for extending essential healthcare to the farthest reaches of the border.
