Guwahati (Assam), Dec 11 : Border Security Force director general Praveen Kumar has reviewed the security situation and operational readiness of the BSF Guwahati Frontier during his visit to assess emerging challenges along the India–Bangladesh international border.
Officials briefed him on the prevailing security landscape and measures in place to curb cross-border crimes.
The discussions focused on evolving threats, preparedness levels and the need for coordinated responses across the frontier.
During interactions with officers and personnel, the DG commended the “effective domination and commendable duties” being carried out along the border.
He underscored the need for heightened alertness and vigilance to ensure swift action in the event of any adverse situation.
He also highlighted the importance of integrating advanced technology into border management systems to enhance surveillance, improve efficiency and enable real-time situational awareness.
Strengthening technical skills among personnel to operate and maintain these systems was identified as a priority.
“The emerging security challenges and measures being taken to curb cross-border crimes were also deliberated upon,” the BSF said in an official release.
“He emphasized the need for heightened alertness and vigilance on the border to ensure a prompt and effective response to any adverse situation,” the statement added.
