Three Married Garo Women from Same Family Go Missing in Assam’s Raha

Chaparmukh, March 26: A wave of concern has spread across Balikuchi village under the Amsoi Outpost in Assam’s Raha subdivision after three married Garo sisters from the same family went missing under mysterious circumstances.

According to family sources, the missing women have been identified as Sumita Sangma (30), Pramita Sangma (26), and Ranita Sangma (23), daughters of Firit Momin.

The three sisters reportedly left their home on March 23 at around 2 PM to visit a nearby weekly market, but have not returned since.

Meanwhile, family members said that they conducted extensive searches in nearby areas and possible locations, but failed to trace them.

Following this, an FIR was lodged at the Amsoi Police Outpost. However, no significant leads have been found so far.

The family, along with local residents, suspects that the three women may have fallen prey to a human trafficking or fraudulent employment racket that lures individuals with false job offers.

Attempts to contact the sisters on their mobile phones have also been unsuccessful, raising further concern over their safety.

The family has appealed to the public to assist in locating the missing women.
