Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 11 : In a major welfare initiative, the 763 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Vartak has launched a comprehensive medical check-up drive for over 4,000 road construction labourers working across the high-altitude regions of Tawang district.

Mobile medical teams are visiting remote locations including Damteng, Yangtse, Sungetsar, and Klemta to conduct on-site health check-ups. Each labourer’s details are being recorded through a dedicated digital form to ensure proper health monitoring and follow-up.
The drive covers height, weight, eyesight, hearing, blood pressure, and oxygen level checks aimed at early detection of health issues among workers exposed to challenging mountain conditions.
Local residents have praised the initiative. “BRO not only builds roads here, they take care of the people who make it possible,” said Tsering Wangchu, a village head near Yangtse. Another villager expressed gratitude, saying the medical camps mean a lot for labourers working in isolated regions.
A Defence PRO stated that the initiative reflects the humanitarian approach of the Border Roads Organisation, which continues to ensure the welfare of those serving in extreme terrain.
Project Vartak and 763 BRTF reaffirmed their commitment to service and compassion — connecting borders and hearts alike.
