Exercise DRONE KAVACH validates new technologies and counter-drone systems
Itanagar, Oct 1 : The Indian Army conducted Exercise DRONE KAVACH in forward areas of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh from September 25 to 28, testing its preparedness for next-generation drone warfare and validating advanced counter-drone technologies.
Organised by Spear Corps under Eastern Command, the four-day exercise was also attended by personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deployed in the region. It featured tactical manoeuvres and simulated combat situations designed to assess the Army’s ability to operate in technology-driven, multi-domain battlefields.

The exercise included rehearsals of tactics, techniques and procedures for target acquisition, active and passive counter-drone measures, and target neutralisation under simulated battlefield conditions. Newly raised unit-level structures were also tasked with evolving operational methods in line with the Army’s overall employment philosophy.
Officials said insights from the exercise would help the Army refine its understanding of future operational environments and enhance its preparedness for drone-centric warfare.
Exercise DRONE KAVACH is part of the Army’s modernisation efforts and reflects its focus on adopting cutting-edge technology to strengthen combat capabilities.
