Exercise highlights self-sustained emergency care in remote terrain
Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 12 : The Indian Army has demonstrated its advanced field medical response capability through a specialised exercise held in the dense jungles of Arunachal Pradesh, simulating a real-time emergency scenario requiring rapid establishment of a self-contained medical post in rugged terrain.

Medical teams trekked through steep gradients and thick vegetation to set up a fully functional facility equipped for life-saving interventions and casualty stabilisation in austere conditions. The setup showcased the Army’s ability to operate independently for extended periods, ensuring uninterrupted medical support in areas with limited evacuation access.
The exercise also featured simulated trauma management under field constraints, focusing on advanced resuscitation, triage and coordinated teamwork aligned with contemporary battlefield and disaster response standards.

An Army official stated that the initiative underscores the force’s emphasis on readiness, resilience and humanitarian commitment across operational environments. It reflects the professionalism and dedication of Army medical personnel “who remain prepared to deliver critical care and relief in any situation, true to the motto—Forever in the Line of Duty.”
