According to officials, the training not only built physical strength but also promoted calmness of mind, emotional balance, and spiritual well-being—qualities considered vital for effective performance under operational stress.

The Army said the positive response and active participation of the troops underscored the relevance of yoga in modern military life. As an indigenous practice rooted in discipline and self-control, yoga was described as a “force multiplier” in helping soldiers maintain composure in adversity.

The programme forms part of the Army’s efforts to integrate holistic fitness into its ranks and aligns with the national vision of promoting yoga as a way of life, officials added.
