Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 11 : A field medical preparedness exercise was carried out by an Army medical team in a remote village of Arunachal Pradesh to enhance readiness for disaster relief and emergency response in inaccessible regions.

Carrying essential medical equipment in rucksacks, the team trekked through steep and forested terrain with no road connectivity to reach the designated site. Upon arrival, they demonstrated rapid medical mobilisation and coordination capabilities during crises.
The personnel established a mobile medical relief post capable of providing first aid, resuscitation, and stabilisation to victims during disasters. Within 30 minutes, key functional areas including registration, treatment, resuscitation, evacuation, and logistics support were set up and made operational.

A casualty carriage drill followed to assess evacuation efficiency and coordination under simulated crisis conditions.
The exercise, according to a Defence PRO, reflected the “commitment, adaptability, and professionalism of Army medical personnel in delivering life-saving care under adverse conditions,” reaffirming the Armed Forces’ dedication to humanitarian assistance and swift medical support in difficult terrain.
