The exposure trip offered participants a close look at one of Assam’s most celebrated natural heritage sites, recognised globally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its conservation of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros.

The day began with a jungle safari through Kaziranga’s grasslands, wetlands and forested stretches, where the team spotted rhinoceroses, elephants, wild buffaloes, deer species and several bird varieties. For many students, it was their first direct encounter with the region’s diverse wildlife.

The group also interacted with forest guards, who briefed them on anti-poaching measures, habitat protection efforts and the challenges involved in managing a sensitive ecological zone like Kaziranga.

Officials highlighted the park’s long-standing conservation strategies and the role of local communities in safeguarding wildlife.

After the visit, the team proceeded to the nearby Orchid Park, where they viewed a wide collection of indigenous flora representing the biodiversity of Assam and the Northeast.

According to participants, the visit was an enriching learning experience that deepened their appreciation of India’s conservation initiatives and the ecological significance of Kaziranga.
