The summons follows a case filed by Luit Kumar Barman, which points to financial mismanagement in the NRC, as highlighted in a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report.

Hajela, who played a pivotal role in the NRC process, was expected to present himself in court with allegations of financial irregularities associated with the NRC project.

In response to Hajela’s non-appearance, the court has issued an order to notify him through advertisements in two highly circulated newspapers in Assam and Madhya Pradesh and two national newspapers.
