Farmers join interaction session, take Swachhata pledge
Guwahati, Oct. 12 : Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kamrup organized a live screening of the national launch of the “Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMKDDY)” on Saturday, with over 300 farmers and farm women from across the district taking part.
The event was graced by Hemanga Thakuria, MLA of Palasbari constituency, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included K. K. Bora, organizing secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh; Dr. G. Kadirvel, director of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VI, Guwahati; Dr. H. C. Bhattacharjee, former director of Extension Education, AAU Jorhat; Dr. Rajesh Kumar, principal scientist, ICAR-ATARI Zone-VI; Dr. D. N. Kalita, executive director, CBBO, AAU-HRS Kahikuchi; and Dr. Samiran Pathak, principal scientist, AAU-HRS Kahikuchi.
A Farmer-Scientist Interaction session was also held, providing participants an opportunity to discuss agricultural challenges and innovations with experts. In addition, dignitaries and participants took the Swachhata Pledge as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The programme was led by Dr. Ilakshy Deka, SMS (Animal Science) and in-charge head of KVK Kamrup, with support from the entire KVK team.
