Floral tributes, readings and reflections mark parallel programmes at NFR headquarters and construction office in Guwahati
Maligaon (Guwahati), Dec 9 : Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday observed the 70th Mahaparinirwan Divas of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar with solemn programmes at its headquarters and construction organisation offices in Maligaon, Guwahati.
The main commemoration was held at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha at NFR headquarters, where officers and staff gathered to pay homage to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
The Additional General Manager of NFR was present and offered floral tributes to Ambedkar, joined by employees who observed the occasion with a brief ceremonial programme.
A parallel event was organised by the NFR Construction Organisation at the concourse hall of the newly constructed General Manager (Construction) office building in Maligaon.
The ceremony included floral tributes, readings on Ambedkar’s life and work, and reflections on his contribution to social justice, equality and constitutionalism.
Speakers recalled his role as jurist, economist, social reformer and champion of marginalised communities, stressing the contemporary relevance of his ideas for building an inclusive and progressive India.
As a key railway zone serving the northeastern states, NFR used the observance to reiterate its commitment to upholding the values espoused by Ambedkar.
The railway administration urged employees to draw inspiration from his life and principles in their work and public service, underlining his legacy as a guiding force for institutional fairness and equal opportunity.
