Motorcycle rally to honour fallen soldiers of 5 Assam Rifles

Event to mark 50th anniversary of Tulung La sacrifice

Missamari (Assam), Assam, Oct 24 : The Gajraj Corps will organize the “Saddle Borne Warriors” motorcycle rally from October 26 to November 1 to commemorate the courage, discipline, and patriotism of Indian soldiers. The rally is dedicated to the memory of four soldiers of the 5 Assam Rifles who laid down their lives at Tulung La in Arunachal Pradesh on October 20, 1975.

The week-long event will mark the 50th anniversary of their supreme sacrifice and aims to inspire the younger generation with values of duty and national pride.

The rally will start from Missamari Cantonment and cover Bhalukpong, Tenga, Bomdila, Sela, Jaswantgarh, Mago, Tulung La, Damteng, Tawang, and Jung before returning to Missamari. At each stop, participants will pay homage at war memorials along the route to honour India’s fallen heroes.

Besides commemorating the brave soldiers, the initiative seeks to promote road safety, responsible driving, and the Indian Army’s guiding principle — Seva Parmo Dharma (Service is the highest duty). It will also highlight the cultural richness and natural beauty of West Kameng while fostering unity, teamwork, and camaraderie among participants.
