
In another record breaking sale, Assam’s Manohari Gold Tea, an exotic and a rare variety of tea in the state, has once again created history by breaking its own record by fetching Rs 99,999 a kilogram in Sale No 50 held on Tuesday at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre.
The Gold Tea was bought by Saurav Tea Traders with the highest bid of Rs 99,000 per kilogram.
Last year, the Manohari Gold Tea was sold at a whopping Rs 75,000 per kilogram at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (CTAC), the highest bid last year.

Manohari Tea Estate is located in Dibrugarh in Assam. The owner of Manohari TE is Rajan Lohia.
“This is a proud moment for Guwahati Tea Auction Center where Manohari Gold Tea of Dibrugarh has created history once again by breaking its own record,” said Dinesh Bihani, Secretary of Guwahati Tea Auction Buyers Association.
“I hope that the foreign buyers will also like these Indian specialty teas and I urge more and more sellers to come up with specialty tea and make India a hub for Specialty teas,” Bihani further said.
