Spectacular aerobatics mark 93rd anniversary celebrations

Guwahati, Nov 9 : The Indian Air Force (IAF) marked its 93rd anniversary with a breathtaking flying display over the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati on Sunday, drawing large crowds along the riverbanks.

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya was the chief guest, while Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command Air Marshal Surat Singh, and senior state and IAF officials attended the event.

The aerial extravaganza, themed “Infallible, Impervious and Precise” (“अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक”), featured an impressive line-up of fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters. The Tejas, Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, C-295 and Hawk aircraft highlighted India’s growing air prowess and technological self-reliance.

Audiences were thrilled by low-level aerobatic displays by the Sukhoi-30 MKI, Rafale, and Harvard aircraft, followed by precision formations by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and the Sarang helicopter display team.

The display not only showcased the IAF’s operational excellence but also inspired hundreds of youth from the Northeast, many of whom expressed interest in pursuing a career in the armed forces. The coordinated performance of the men and women in blue left spectators spellbound, filling the skies over the Brahmaputra with pride and patriotism.
