Participants began early at the lakefront, engaging in extensive cleaning activities along the shoreline. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and cleaning tools, they cleared litter, plastic waste, and other debris, helping restore the scenic lake’s natural beauty.

Chief Engineer A.K. Jain, addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness in public spaces. He said such initiatives not only enhance the surroundings’ aesthetics but also protect the environment and promote community well-being.

The drive also helped raise awareness among locals and tourists about hygiene and the need to preserve Meghalaya’s pristine environment.

The BRO, through such initiatives, continues to demonstrate its commitment to nation-building, environmental stewardship, and community engagement across the North-Eastern region.
