During the event, ten sewing machines were distributed to women of the Ollo tribe. The programme was attended by the Commandant, Company Commander, local leaders including Raja and GBs, and the Officer-in-Charge of Lazu Police Station, reflecting strong civil–security cooperation in the region.

The initiative aims to promote skill development and sustainable livelihood by equipping women with tools to generate income through tailoring and cottage industries. This is expected to enhance economic stability among Ollo families and contribute to local development.

The outreach underscores Assam Rifles’ continuing commitment to peace, development, and inclusive growth in insurgency-affected areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Through such initiatives, the force continues to build trust with local communities and strengthen the foundation for lasting harmony.

Assam Rifles reiterated that it “has always been and shall continue to remain the true friend of the people of the North East.”
