Former Assam minister and the architect of the now infamous IMDT Act Abdul Muhib Majumdar passed away today at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital here.
Born on 20th August, 1932, he died at 90.
He was elected MLA three times from Hailakandi constituency.
He had served as cabinet ministers in the Congress and AGP cabinets.
He was also the Advocate General of the State.

Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had condoled his death. In a Tweet, Chief Minister wrote that Late Abdul Muhib Majumdar’s contribution to Assamese Society & Politics will always be remembered.
