Temporary APDCL Employee Electrocuted on Duty

A temporary employee of the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) was electrocuted while repairing a transformer in the Geleki area of Kaziranga on Wednesday.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Pranabjyoti Baruah had been working as a temporary employee under the APDCL in the Geleki area for the last four years.

Amid the power shortage in the Geleki Chariali area in the late evening hours, Baruah was engaged in bridging the transformer, when the mishap occurred.

The APDCL meanwhile said that Baruah didn’t inform the control room while working on a transformer in Geleki Chariali, hence, he got electrocuted.

Meanwhile, locals blamed the power department for the death of the employee.
