Amazon Coupon: Know about the New Requirments
To enhance the coupon experience for both consumers and sellers, Amazon has introduced new Coupon Pricing Requirements, effective March 12, 2024. These changes aim to foster customer trust and ultimately provide a more rewarding selling experience on the platform.
Key Changes to Coupon Requirements
Amazon’s updated policy mandates that all coupons offer a discount percentage ranging between a minimum of 5% off and a maximum of 50% off. Additionally, products must now have a sales history to qualify for coupon promotions. Importantly, the promotion price must be lower than either the “was price” or the most recent lowest price of the product.
Criteria for Coupon Eligibility
Products that fail to meet these new criteria will be deemed ineligible for coupon promotions until all requirements are satisfied. Sellers encountering coupon error messages can address them as follows:
- Price History Issue: To qualify, sellers are encouraged to generate sales history, establishing a “was price.” Further guidance on how the “was price” is calculated can be found in the Amazon policy on reference prices.
- Increase Discount: Ensuring the promotion price is below the “was price” or recent lowest price will render the product eligible for coupon promotions.
- Minimum/Maximum Discount Issue: Adjusting the sale price discount to fall within the 5% to 50% range is necessary for eligibility.
