Kibithu (Arunachal Pradesh), Nov 12 : An Adventure Trek organised by the Indian Army culminated today at Kibithu, the easternmost point of India, marking the 63rd Walong Day Commemoration.
The event was aimed at fostering a spirit of adventure, teamwork, leadership and endurance among participants while honouring the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who fought the historic Battle of Walong in 1962.
Participants took part in various activities including camping, obstacle navigation, endurance challenges and team-based tasks, promoting physical fitness, mental resilience and unity. The trek also offered youth and local participants a chance to experience high-altitude conditions and understand the challenges faced by personnel serving in such remote areas.
According to a Defence PRO statement, the initiative further strengthened the bond between the local population and the armed forces, reinforcing values of discipline, cooperation and national pride.
The Adventure Trek stood as a tribute to the valiant soldiers who defended the nation at Walong, continuing to inspire future generations with the enduring spirit of courage, perseverance and patriotism — the timeless Spirit of Walong.
