Jorhat, Mar 28: A massive explosion at a rented house in Rajamaidam New Colony in Jorhat on Saturday sent shockwaves through the locality, leaving two people dead and two children critically injured.
As per reports, the blast claimed the life of Nur Mohammad at the scene.
The explosion was so intense that it reportedly left the victim’s body severely injured.
Two minor children, a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were also grievously injured in the incident.
Both were rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for urgent treatment.
Later reports indicated that one of the children succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear at this stage.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the nature and source of the blast.
