Guwahati, Nov 16 : A female student was killed and her father critically injured in a hit-and-run incident at Rangia after their scooter was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
The deceased was identified as Mousumi Rahman, a resident of Bongaon, Rangia. She died on the spot, police said.
Her father, Mukut Rahman, who was riding the scooter bearing registration number AS-01BE-4546, sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Mousumi Rahman was a first-semester postgraduate student in the Department of Geography at Bhattadev University.
Authorities said the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.
A search has been launched to trace the driver.
