4 Drug Traffickers Held, Drugs Worth Rs. 2 Cr Seized

Four inter-state drug traffickers have been arrested and one kilogram of ‘Ice-drug’ (crystal methamphetamine) worth about Rs 2 crore in international market seized along with Rs 1 lakh cash from their possession along National Highway-2 in Manipur, police sources said.


A team of Narcotics Affairs of Borders (NAB) arrested the four at Sekmai Nongthonband in front of PAL Hotel at about 4.30 pm on Thursday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Md Azad Khan of Lilong Haoreibi; Mustaqeem of Lilong Chandrakkhong, Annie Khumlo Anal of Lilong Haoreibi and Joseph Th of Khoibee village, Senapati district, the sources said.

Reacting to this achievement, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweets, ”State Govt. achieving great success in busting the complicated drug racket. Today, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border has arrested three individuals along with 1 kg of suspected contraband Ice drug (crystal methamphetamine) which is worth over Rs 2 Cr.
