Itanagar, Sept 28 : The Dao Warriors of Spear Corps organised a five-day volleyball league at Hayuliang in Anjaw district under Operation Sadbhavana, drawing 18 teams from villages across the district.
The tournament, which turned into a festival of sportsmanship and unity, provided a platform for youth to showcase talent while promoting teamwork, discipline and healthy living. The final between Supliyag and Nenuliang teams kept the crowd on edge with high-energy rallies and a close contest, reflecting the region’s strong sporting culture.
As part of the Army’s outreach in border areas, the event aimed to foster goodwill and strengthen civil–military relations. Organisers said such initiatives also help nurture local talent and encourage sports as a path to holistic development and community integration.
The league concluded with the felicitation of winners and participants, reinforcing trust and cooperation between the Army and the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
