ULFA Recruitment Module Busted By Indian Army & Assam Police

GUWAHATI: Based on specific input of recruitment being carried out by ULFA in Assam,  Joypur Battalion of Red Shield Division of Spear Corps along with Sonari police busted a recruitment module on Wednesday.

A well planned and coordinated operation led to the apprehension of seven youth in Namtola while the group was on its way to the ULFA training camps across the Myanmar border.

The group included a cadre who had earlier surrendered in 2016 and one who had already tried to join the banned outfit couple of years back. During the operation, a Pistol with ammunition was also recovered.

All the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Police and they have confessed to having been recruited by handlers of ULFA-I.

The operation breaks the myth of the unilateral ceasefire announced by ULFA. Indian Army is committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
