Sikkim, Sept 16
Troops of the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps have successfully completed a six-day route march in Sikkim, carrying full battle loads across altitudes of up to 17,000 feet.
The march, held from September 9 to 15, took soldiers through steep gradients, icy winds, and rugged terrain, testing their endurance and combat readiness. Each participant carried full operational gear, including weapons, equipment, and survival essentials, to simulate battlefield conditions in high-altitude areas.

Army officials said the exercise underlined the importance of human resilience alongside technology. “Technology enhances our capabilities, but it is the soldier’s grit and teamwork that ultimately wins battles. This march reinforces confidence in our ability to fight and prevail in the harshest conditions,” Lt Gen Zubin A Minwalla, GOC, Trishakti Corps, said.
The Army noted that while modern warfare increasingly relies on drones, surveillance systems, and smart logistics, physical preparedness remains vital in scenarios where technology may be limited.
The Trishakti Corps said the successful exercise reaffirmed its commitment to operational readiness in safeguarding India’s eastern Himalayan frontiers.
