Tripura Panchayats Win National Awards, CM Manik Saha Expresses Pride

Agartala, March 31: The Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Saha on Tuesday announced that the state has earned national recognition, with three of its panchayats receiving the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay & Nanaji Deshmukh Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025 conferred by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India.

According to the Chief Minister’s post on X, Sepahijala District secured Rank 1 in the Best District Panchayat category, while Kanchabari Gram Panchayat was ranked first under the Healthy Panchayat category.

Baikunthapur Gram Panchayat also brought laurels to the state by securing Rank 3 in the Women-Friendly Panchayat category.

Taking to X, Saha wrote, “Tripura shines bright as 3 of our Panchayats win the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay & Nanaji Deshmukh Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025 by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India.”

The award-winning panchayats will receive financial incentives of ₹5 crore, ₹1 crore, and ₹50 lakh respectively, aimed at further strengthening grassroots governance and development initiatives.

Expressing his happiness, the Chief Minister lauded the achievements as a reflection of Tripura’s strong dedication to inclusive and sustainable rural development, stating that the recognition highlights the state’s progress in empowering local self-governance institutions.
