A South African national was apprehended by BSF personnel at Indo-Bangladesh border in Dawki, under East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
According to BSF sources, he was trying to sneak into Bangladesh illegally.
BSF personnel stationed at the Dawki Border Outpost nabbed the person after a chase.

“The BSF personnel ordered the person to stop, but he made a dash to cross an unfenced area on the international border,” the BSF official said.

The nabbed individual has been identified as Michael Richard who was carrying a South African passport with a valid Indian visa up to November, 2021.

He also had in his possession two smartphones and Indian and US currencies.
