Kibithu (Arunachal Pradesh), Sept 27 : An 18-member delegation from the National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi visited Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, paying tribute to soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1962 Battle of Walong.

The delegation included senior military officers, civil service officials and participants from friendly foreign countries attending the ongoing NDC course. At the Walong War Memorial, they honoured the soldiers’ courage and sacrifice, describing the battle as a defining chapter in India’s military history.
The visitors were also briefed on the operational preparedness and readiness of Army units deployed in forward areas along the Line of Actual Control. They commended the professionalism and resilience of troops operating in difficult terrain and extreme weather on the eastern front.
Officials said the visit provided valuable insights into the strategic significance of the region and reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to safeguarding national security and sovereignty.
