Jyoti Nainwal Join Army after 11 Months Training

Jyoti Nainwal, wife of martyred soldier Deepak Nainwal, became a Lieutenant of the Indian Army after she passed out of the Officers’ Training Academy in Chennai on Saturday.

Her husband, Deepak Nainwal, was martyred in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir while fighting terrorists in 2018.

During the passing out parade on Saturday, Lieutenant Jyoti Nainwal was cheered on by her two children, who also wore army uniforms for the occasion.

Lieutenant Jyoti Nainwal thanked the Mahar Regiment and her family for their support.

“I never thought I’ll go for a job as I was a homemaker. Only when my husband was in the hospital, I saw how the Army takes care of their soldiers. So I decided to join the Army and my husband’s Mahar Regiment helped. I want to tell the wives of other martyrs that we should live in a way that our children don’t need to take anyone else as their inspiration,” she said.

Her daughter Lavanya Nainwal said that she is very proud of her mother and that she also will become an Army officer one day. “I want to thank Mahar Regiment. Because of them, she has become an Army officer and I’m feeling very proud of her,” she said.
