Guwahati: Second Incident of Girl Student Death in Three Months
In a sad incident, a class III student studying in a private school in the Narengi area of Guwahati city dies after falling unconscious during morning prayer.
This incident took place on Wednesday, October 19.
The girl student, aged 8, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was not admitted by hospital authority due to the unavailability of children ICU.
Then she was taken to another hospital where she was declared dead.
The deceased minor was a resident of Guwahati’s Gitamandir area.
The family members of the deceased demand inquiry into the incident as they allege negligence by the school or hospital authority where she was brought first.
Notably, two months ago, another girl student of a private school in the Chhatribari area of Guwahati fainted due to extreme heat during the morning assembly and later passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
After this incident, the district administration directed city schools not to organize morning prayer in open spaces.
