HDMC Secunderabad officers briefed on indigenous unmanned systems, surveillance platforms and counter-drone concepts at DAO Drone Lab under Spear Corps
Guwahati (Assam), Nov 21: DAO Division under the aegis of Spear Corps hosted a tri-services delegation from the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC), Secunderabad, at the DAO Drone Lab in Assam, showcasing indigenous initiatives in drone technology and their operational applications.

The visit was aimed at familiarising senior officers with contemporary developments in unmanned systems and innovation-oriented efforts being pursued within the Army, particularly in the Northeast.
During the interaction, the delegation was briefed on a range of in-house initiatives undertaken by the division to enhance the utility and adaptability of drones.
Select demonstrations highlighted capabilities in surveillance-oriented platforms, emerging counter-drone concepts and improvements in repair and maintenance processes to support sustained operations.
The displays focused on technological approaches that can be applied across different operational environments to improve efficiency, responsiveness and mission flexibility.
Interactive sessions allowed officers from the three services to exchange views on the evolving role of unmanned systems and their integration into future battlefield scenarios.
The delegation also gained an overview of the Army’s emphasis on self-reliance, innovation and technology-driven preparedness in line with its modernisation priorities.
According to officials, the visit further strengthened knowledge sharing within the tri-services and reinforced a collective approach to adopting emerging technologies and enhancing future readiness.
