No duty can be more as sacred than the duty performed for security of the Nation: IG Sukhdev Raj
Guwahati, Oct 23 : The Border Security Force’s Guwahati Frontier and all its sector headquarters, battalions, Composite Hospital BSF and the 1st Battalion NDRF observed Police Commemoration Day 2025, paying homage to personnel of Central Armed Police Forces and state police who died in the line of duty.

Marking the occasion, Inspector General Sukhdev Raj highlighted the role of security personnel and said, “No duty can be more as sacred than the duty performed for security of the Nation.” He recalled that Police Commemoration Day is observed annually in memory of the 10 CRPF personnel killed when a patrol was ambushed by the Chinese Army at Hot Spring, Ladakh, on October 21, 1959.
At the end of the ceremony, the IG, officers, subordinate officers and jawans of BSF, along with staff of the Composite Hospital and 1st NDRF Guwahati, observed a two-minute silence in honour of the fallen.
