According to sources, the children were taken by a family acquaintance named Sudhir Kumar on the pretext of taking them for a ride and did not return. The children’s father, who was doing business with Kumar but had parted ways due to some dispute, lodged a complaint at Gaushala Outpost.

The police traced Kumar’s mobile phone location and alerted their counterparts in Bihar. A team of Guwahati police also rushed to Bihar and raided Kumar’s hideout with the help of local police. The children recovered safely. However, the kidnappers managed to flee.

The police are investigating the motive behind the abduction and whether any ransom demand was made. The children are enrolled at Mohua PS in Bihar and will be returned to Guwahati soon.

DCP, Guwahati West Police District told media persons that the manhunt for the kidnappers is on, and the culprits will be arrested soon.
