Himanta Biswa Sarma is in Karnataka on a Two-Day Visit
Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Sri Gavisiddeshwara Matha (also known as Gavimath) in the Koppal district of Karnataka on Monday and sought the blessings of Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji, the head of the monastery.
Sarma, on a two-day visit to Karnataka, was welcomed by the Swamiji and other dignitaries at the matha, one of the oldest and most well-known Lingayat monasteries in North Karnataka. The matha is involved in various social and educational activities, such as running schools and colleges, providing food to the needy, and imparting spiritual knowledge.
The Assam CM also participated in a special puja at the matha and offered his prayers. He expressed his gratitude to the Swamiji for his hospitality and blessings. He also praised the matha for contributing to society and the Lingayat community.

Sarma later tweeted, “I am deeply humbled by the warm welcome accorded to me by Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji at Sri Gavisiddeshwara Matha in Koppal. I sought his blessings for the welfare of Assam and the country. The matha is a great center of learning and spirituality.”
During his visit, Sarma is expected to meet Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other BJP leaders. He is also likely to attend some public events and inaugurate some development projects in the state.
