Rs.60,000 in cash and jewellery were stolen from the residence of one Gokul Goswami in Sankar Nagar area of Guwahati on Sunday night.
At the time of robbery, Gokul Goswami was away to his Pathsala residence to conduct the last rites of his mother who passed away.
According to police, the thief entered the house by breaking the back door.
Further investigation is on.
